It’s #worldbeeday 🐝 so we’ve had a bit of themed play today!

Painting - popped a few blobs of paint on paper and let Leo do the painting. Then I added some black lines to turn the yellow areas into bees.

Sensory play: added some pressed flowers and craft bees for Leo to explore, plus a cuddly little felt bee - all things we already had. It’s been raining the whole time and Leo loved hearing the pitter patter of the raindrops on the canopy too.

Reading: we’ve mentioned this book before. It’s one of our faves. The illustrations by Britta Teckentrup are stunning and the story follows the incredible journey of one little bee.

Planting wildflowers: We finished this playtime by clearing a spot and planting some bee bombs Mr J & I still have leftover from our wedding. We’ve got just a few left - one for this garden and some for our next as we’re moving soon(ish).

Then we stomped them into the ground. They don’t need watering, but my mum insisted Leo needed to use the watering can she’d got for him, so sure, why not

Quick to set up and such a great way to spend an hour or so celebrating the bees of our world. Leo’s out like a light now

Are you up to anything for World Bee Day?
