A couple of masterpieces 🎨

Beat the heat by 10am this morning, keeping cool with some super simple homemade watercolour ice cubes

To make these watercolour cubes:

  • Ice cube tray

  • Water

  • A few drops of food dye in each square

  • Pop in the freezer until frozen and voila!

Thank you to @the_play_adventures_ for inspiring this play idea! We’re using all our lolly sticks for ice lollies at the moment so stuck to just cubes, but lolly sticks make great handles if you have some spare.

We used watercolour paper to paint on and I popped a muslin cloth underneath that I was happy to get covered in paint. L loves passing everything to people at the moment so he kept passing the ice cubes back and forth  After, he had a splash in the washtub to get clean and then it was back indoors for some fresh pineapple, mango & Greek yogurt ”ice cream” before our garden becomes a furnace (there is zero shade once it hits 11am!)

Hope you're managing to stay cool today x
